I am back with the rest of the tour. So after we reached Swakopmund (this time I took a bit of a rest) we drove further up the coast. We had a short stop at Cape Cross with many, many, many seals – oh and the babies – so cute! We passed through the Skeleton Coast but did not find that many skeletons anymore. Further the road took us to the Grootberg Lodge. With 4x4 we reached the lodge situated at the top of the Damaraland Plateau. After a short rest, with the most stunning sunsets, we continued our journey to the Etosha National Park. Recently when I was in Tsumeb I mentioned that I was so close but did not see it then. We saw many animals like the normal antelopes such as Springbok, Kudu, Impala and Zebras, Wildebeest, giraffes, vultures and more. We even saw 4 of the “Big 5” animals being the elephants, lions (6 lioness and 1 lion!), leopard (one is lucky to spot a leopard) and of course my family the rhino. It did rain the 2 days in the Etosha, but this didn’t stop us from having a good time.
I am back home now, but already planning my next adventure.
With love Stompie!
